What Is A Concussion?

A direct hit on the head OR even a jolt or quick movement to the head causing the brain to bump around inside your head.

Things You Might Feel Or Want To Look For With A Concussion

Tired, dizzy, can’t concentrate, confused, loss of memory (forgetting), headache, slow reaction time, sleep problems, vision problems, light is “too bright”, vomiting or sick to your stomach. concussions can also cause personality changes like getting mad or sad a lot.

BAM! Concussion. Now What?

Tell Someone! DO NOT return to play. Get checked by a doctor. Rest!

What If I Don’t Say Anything About My Head Hurting?

You’re more likely to get another one and hurt your brain more! This may mean problems learning at school, permanent brain damage, coma or death.

What Can I Do So I Don’t Get One?

1) Avoid hits to the head. You can ask a coach or athletic trainer for tips. 2) Use good protection like a helmet when playing sports and rough games or activities. 3) Make sure when you wear protection that it fits and is worn correctly. 4) Follow safety rules. 5) Practice good sportsmanship.
